The United Nations has called on warring parties in Sudan to respect international humanitarian law as fighting intensifies in the Kordofan region.
Speaking on behalf of UN Secretary-General António Guterres, spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric said civilians are bearing the brunt of escalating violence.
Clashes between the Rapid Support Forces and the Sudanese Armed Forces have intensified in South Kordofan, disrupting humanitarian access and damaging key infrastructure.
A drone strike reportedly hit Dilling General Hospital, killing several patients.
The UN also reported escalating violence in Kadugli and ongoing drone attacks in El Obeid.
Officials warned that attacks on infrastructure, including the road connecting Kosti and El Obeid, could disrupt both humanitarian and commercial supply chains
