Badminton

Sarah Nazziwa shone brightly in the world of badminton, winning a silver medal at the Uganda International Para Badminton tournament held last month at Lugogo Indoor Arena in Kampala. Competing in the Wheelchair One category, Nazziwa emerged victorious, surpassing Sumin Mutesi and fellow Wheelchair One competitor Elizabeth Nassolo to claim the award.

Football

Joseph Ssewali, an industrious attacking forward, was named July’s best footballer. As the captain of the Ssingo Ssaza team, Ssewali demonstrated exceptional skill and leadership, scoring 5 out of the 8 goals his team achieved in 4 games during the month. His stellar performance propelled Ssingo to the top of the 2024 Masaza Cup competition, accumulating 10 points in July and 11 points from 5 games in the group stage’s first round. Ssewali edged out competitors such as Bululi’s Robert Ssewanyana, who netted three goals, and Enock Kabuuka to win the award.

Rugby

Arone Ofoyrwoth was recognized as the best rugby player for July. His outstanding skills and significant contributions to the sport earned him this prestigious accolade.

Boxing

Sulaiman Ssegawa, a WBC winner, was named the best boxer of the month. Ssegawa faced minimal competition for the award, underscoring his dominance and exceptional performance in boxing.
