Honorable Aisha Kabanda, the National Unity Platform’s representative for Butambala district, provided insights into the evolution of the Muhoozi Kainerugaba Movement (MK Movement) into the Patriotic League of Uganda. Speaking in a televised interview, Kabanda dissected the rationale behind this transition, depicting the MK Movement as a branch of the ruling NRM party targeting youth engagement.

Having previously been aligned with the NRM, Kabanda underscored the party’s recognition of its waning appeal among the youth demographic. She suggested that the decision to elevate Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s profile aimed to address this gap. Nonetheless, Kabanda voiced skepticism regarding Muhoozi’s ability to authentically represent youth interests.
